Dr. Pryor Recommends Sedation Dentistry

If you’ve always wanted to get a smile restoration but were apprehensive, if you’re scared of the dentist, afraid of needles, injections, or have extensive dental needs, you’ve come to the right place! Dr. Aaron Pryor provides sedation dentistry to help those with extensive dental needs, a fear of the dentist, or phobia. Now you can get the treatment you need while in a calm, relaxed state.

You’re not asleep like in traditional anesthetic like you’d get during surgery, but in a relaxed state where you’ll have little to no recollection of the procedures. This method is safer than traditional anesthetic but provides many of the same benefits.

If you have a dental phobia or would like to know more, please request a consultation with Dr. Pryor to discuss your dental needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s important to understand that the entire purpose of Sedation Dentistry is to remove any fear of discomfort, pain, or anxiety from your treatment experience. Most patients tell us they felt absolutely no pain or discomfort during their procedures and may express that they feel great immediately afterwards.

Most patients don’t remember much of their procedure once the sedation wears off. Some may even experience a bit of retroactive amnesia and be unable to recall having arrived at the office. Less commonly, patients may experience mild nausea, headaches, or a feeling like jet lag once sedation wears off.

Our office monitors you immediately following your procedure to ensure there are no complications due to the sedation process. As a general rule, we’ll provide post-care instructions should you experience any issues once at home. Due to the relaxing effects of sedation, you will need to avoid driving or operating heavy machinery for 24 hours following your treatment.
Though it can be a bit of an inconvenience to get here and back, you’ll be unable to drive home after your appointment so we require patients that are doing dental sedation to get a ride to and from the appointment.
We’ll work with you and your insurance company to see if sedation will be covered by your insurance company. If coverage doesn’t extend to dental sedation, we offer easy monthly payments with financing. Most patients that have used sedation say it’s worth the investment.
We offer CareCredit® health care financing for your convenience which offers reasonable interest rates for those who need to finance their care.
